Departing from Montalbano at 9:00 am, we will reach the ancient olive groves and the road that used to connect Rome with Brindisi and today connects Fasano and Ostuni. We will cycle through the bike path full of interesting places that describe what countryside life in Puglia used to be in the past. During the tour, we will explain the history of olive oil from growing to harvesting olives, we will describe different production methods depending on the final product use: from lamp oil to high-quality extra virgin oil, we will tell you about the history and the passion that has developed over the centuries. On the trail, we will visit a hypogeum oil mill with an old millstone and presses, the fortified farm Masseria, a modern mill and a century-old olive tree. On request we organize an extra virgin olive oil tasting.
